Let’s be honest — shadow work sounds a bit intense, doesn’t it?But really, it’s just the process of getting to know the parts of yourself you’ve been avoiding.
Your shadow isn’t bad. It’s just the stuff you’ve pushed down or hidden away to survive. The fears, the guilt, the anger, the shame. The parts that once protected you but now feel heavy to carry. Shadow work is about bringing light to those hidden places — gently, safely, without judgment.
It’s not about fixing yourself
So many of us are taught to only show the “good” side — to smile, to stay strong, to keep it together.But healing doesn’t happen through pretending. It happens when we sit with what’s real. Shadow work invites you to turn inward and say, “Hey, I see you. You’re safe now. ”It’s not about fixing or forcing change. It’s about accepting all of who you are — the light and the dark.
How it works
In my sessions and workshops at Intuitive Healings Brisbane, shadow work often weaves through somatic, energy practices, breathwork, and intuitive guidance.
