2024 – Circling the Sun for the 53rd Time

As I circle the sun for the 53rd year, I find myself reflecting on the last five decades of my life. Growing up in the 70s, music flowed through my veins. I’ve seen and experienced so much, and my healing journey has been a process of rediscovering myself through somatic therapy, breathwork, and energy healing in Brisbane.
How I Got Here
After nearly 30 years of traditional talk therapy, I still felt deeply stuck in my trauma. I spent hundreds of hours in sessions with psychologists, exploring the events of my childhood. This included several years of childhood sexual abuse starting at the age of six. I also grappled with my mother wound—the pain of growing up without the love, safety, and nurturing I so deeply craved.
For decades, I lived with complex PTSD, acute depression, and patterns of rage, shutdown, and self-sabotage. These stemmed from deep emotional wounds. Despite trying everything—therapy, medication, mindset work—I still couldn’t find peace.
After six years navigating the justice system and finally facing my abuser in court, I became estranged from my family. I felt completely alone, anxious, and fearful, buried under the weight of shame and guilt. I reached a point where I thought this was simply my path—to live with pain forever.
A Turning Point
In 2018, after my last suicide attempt, I took a year away from everything. I knew something needed to change—and fast. That year became the beginning of my spiritual and somatic healing journey. I started meditation, yoga, energy work, and self-awareness programs that helped me reconnect with my higher self and spirit guides. I began to remember who I truly was beneath the pain.
Then, I discovered Somatic Trauma Therapy and Root Cause Therapy—the missing pieces I’d been searching for. I realized that while my mind held the memories, my body held the trauma. Every emotion, every memory, and every painful imprint was stored in my nervous system.
As I learned to tune into my body, feel my emotions, and regulate my nervous system, I began to release decades of pain. It was the first time in my life I truly felt free.
Healing Through Somatic Therapy & Breathwork
In the last few years, I’ve achieved what 30 years of talk therapy never could. Through somatic healing, trauma-informed breathwork, and intuitive energy healing, I’ve found deep inner peace and happiness.
Breathwork became my next awakening. The journeys I’ve taken through conscious connected breathing have taught me how emotions move through the body energetically. I learned how grief, fear, shame, and love all have a frequency. This work has transformed not only my mental and emotional health but also my connection to spirit, purpose, and community here in Brisbane.
Becoming a Practitioner
Because of the profound transformation I experienced, I became a certified trauma-informed Somatic, Breath, and Master Energy Practitioner. Now, through my business, Intuitive Healings Brisbane, I support others who are ready to heal from past trauma, release emotional blocks, and reconnect to their authentic selves.

The Importance of Healing

Moving Forward
As we continue our healing journeys, let’s remember to be gentle with ourselves. Progress may not always be linear, and that’s okay. Each step, no matter how small, is a step toward wholeness.
