Our Studio

  • What is Embodied Processing? (Somatic Therapy)
Embodied Processing is a Somatic & Psycho-Therapeutic approach to exploring the roots of trauma, anxiety, depression, overwhelm, addiction and other stress related issues, through a Poly-Vagal Nervous System lens. It is a bottom up approach to healing trauma by bringing your mind, body and spirit back into wholeness. I provide coaching and education for nervous system regulation and assist with emotional processing, self awareness and general spiritual wellbeing.
  • What happens during an EP session?
Each session is unique to the client's needs at the time. But it's important to keep in mind that these sessions are fluid in nature. While I will intuitively know what techniques to use during a session based on the client's responses, ultimately, the client's needs on the day guide the sessions. You will learn about your unique nervous system imprints that have been left behind after traumatic events or experiences. As the sessions are designed to delve into the deepest parts of our subconscious, you will experience emotions rising to the surface that are ready to be felt and healed. Part of the healing process is learning to accept and feel these feelings within a safe and supportive environment.
  • Feeling my emotions sounds scary!
Your right! It can be scary to start feeling things we have pushed down for years. Society, our community and sometimes family teach us that feeling and showing emotions are not ok, and they should be suppressed or you will be judged. That fear of judgement is strong enough to suppress many feelings we should of felt at different points or events throughout our lives. Learning to feel again takes time and patience and a sense of safety.
  • How do I know if I have experienced trauma?
Trauma any situation where our nervous system becomes dysregulated and the nervous system becomes very active, where we have highly intense emotional situations of fear, sadness, hurt, guilt and shame and we are unable to properly close those loops, this is what we would call a traumatic imprint. These are those events where your fight, flight or freeze response has automatically kicked in as it senses a threat to you. So, if we look at any situation in life when we are contracted and that contraction is not released and completed back to (big breath) homeostasis then that contraction is a trauma and then later in life I will recontract in the same or similar situation over and over again and that’s what gets triggered up, its somatic contraction.
  • How many sessions will I need?
That completely depends on you and your journey. Everyone is unique in this space. Starting this work can be very confronting for many people. I recommend at least 3 - 5 x 90 mins sessions to begin with then move to 60 min sessions from there. I recommend at least a two week break in-between each session to begin with, sometimes this maybe longer. This allows time for the deep inner work to integrate before then next session.
  • What does the Nervous System have to do with healing?
In my therapeutic coaching approach, the regulation of the nervous system is crucial for healing. Our nervous system governs our stress responses, emotional regulation, and overall sense of safety, all of which are often disrupted by trauma. By focusing on nervous system regulation, I can help individuals restore balance and resilience, enabling them to process and integrate traumatic experiences more effectively. Techniques such as mindfulness, breathwork, and somatic therapies are employed to calm and stabilise the nervous system, creating a foundation for deeper emotional and psychological healing. This holistic focus not only alleviates symptoms of trauma but also empowers individuals to reclaim control over their lives, fostering long-term well-being and transformation.
  • Can you heal me?
My focus is not on healing clients, but on empowering them to heal themselves. True healing comes from within, and my role is to guide and support you in discovering your own inner strength and resilience. By providing tools, techniques, and a safe, nurturing environment, I help you tap into your innate capacity for healing. This approach fosters self-reliance and personal growth, ensuring that the transformation is sustainable and deeply rooted. Through this process, you learn to take control of your own healing journey, building the confidence and skills necessary to navigate future challenges independently.
